Trying Some New Challenges!

PB Thank You 3

Saw a new challenge called Keep It Simple from Lyndal Higgins blog and thought I would give it a go. The topic is "things with wings". Since the topic was butterflies, I am also going to enter this in the Fusion Challenge as well!

Ever have a really great stamp but no matching die? Well have no fear! I stamped this Penny Black butterfly in gold and then just die cut it with another butterfly die. It gave an off center artsy look to the butterflies that I thought looked pretty :)

Casing Amusing Michelle, as Promised!

A long time ago, I had asked a question, which right at this minute slips my mind. It will come to me, I am just going to continue typing till it does. Sometimes thoughts are like grenades...it takes a minute, you know?

Well in any event, I promised myself that I would CASE my blog pal Michelle this month and well today is the day! I chose her most recent post. Just my luck, it's a feather. I never got on the feather bandwagon. I am not sure why, I just didn't. It's hard for my budget and my energy to keep up with all the trends. So I reached for what I had, flowers. And one of my favorite flowers are Popies (for stamps anyway). I would say my favorite flowers are (in no particular order):

1. Hydrangeas
2. Peonies
3. Roses
4. Orchids
5. Lilacs

But I digress...

Basically when I saw Michelle's card, I thought: single image stamp and single sentiment. I used Penny Black Poppy Pattern  and cut apart the flowers to create the clustering. The sentiment is called Kind Words.

PB Thank You So Very Much

Red and Black were my high school colors...it's still a powerful and nostalgic combination for me some 20 years later :)

Well I hope Michelle likes it! She is super talented, supportive, and fabulous and I hope you will go check out her stuff!

Reverse Confetti February Color Challenge

It's my last post as guest designer for Reverse Confetti. I had a wonderful time these last 2 months and really enjoyed the stamps, especially Whole Lotta Hearts! But since I wanted to give the other sets some love, I decided to ink up Paper Crane.

made a GIFF just for YOU!!

The shoe is a silhouette file: Design 8695

The shoe is very tiny. It could actually go on a standard size card, but I thought the shape was darling on it's own.

Take Care from this Fetti Friend and do play along!!

Guest Designer for Winnie & Walter Stamps

This is my second post of the day, for my Casual Fridays Challenge post, click HERE

WW Guest Feb 2014

Today I am guesting with Winnie & Walter Stamps! Check out details here. I made this card using scraps...SCORE.

Let me tell you why I love the stamps:

1. The slatter looks REAL
2. the fonts are fabulous
3. the background stamps are versatile
4. the cut files are a must have (THEY HAVE CUT FILES PEOPLE!!)

For this card, I used Big Bang Confetti and The Big, The, Bold and the Happy

So I am a little sad about Archiver's going out of business. It's kinda hitting me hard. Where will I go to SEE the products? To hang out with crafty friends? To destress? I remember when my son was little and he wasn't talking and I was worried as they told me it might be Autism, that I would go to Archivers and just walk laps around the store destressing. It was so therapeutic to get lost in crafty goodness. There is something about paper than makes you feel happy of the possibilities. Those are days I will never forget.

After lots of speech and OT, my son is talking just fine now. He is soft and gentle and sweet and kind and smart and I wouldn't trade him for another boy for the whole world.

Oh and I wanted to say I have been seeing such beautiful work on my blog reader and I am so swamped with life that I am just looking and running. I want desperately to comment on how talented you all are, how inspiring you are to me. I spent last weekend out of town interviewing for a job and work is short staffed and I am working more than normal giving me less time for commenting. BUT I am looking, promise. and gosh I am nervous to post anymore with all the talent out there!

Reverse Confetti February Sketch for You to Try

RC Feb Sketch 2

It's sketch time at Reverse Confetti. I took some liberties with the sketch. I stamped all the rows of hearts a medium pink but left one row a light pink to represent the green in the sketch. and instead of staggering the papers, I layered them evenly.

The sketch that my card is based on:

Rosette is from Crate Paper Oh Darling Collection.
